THIGHPLASTY
ABOUT
Thighplasty
A procedure to address excess fat or sagging skin in the thighs.
Flabbiness of the thighs may be caused by excess fat, sagging skin, or both. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and the quality of the skin tone.

Treatment Options
Liposuction
When flabbiness is caused primarily by excess fat and the skin tone is good, liposuction may restore a slimmer thigh contour.
This is common in the lateral thighs (saddlebags) and around the knees.
Thigh Lift
If the inner thigh sags due to weight loss, a thigh lift may be indicated. Treatment depends on the degree and direction of skin redundancy:
- Mild Sagging: When excess skin is mainly vertical, a crescent-shaped ellipse of skin is removed from the upper thigh. This creates a scar concealed beneath the groin crease.
- Moderate to Severe Sagging: When redundant skin is both vertical and horizontal, a T-shaped scar is needed. The horizontal scar follows the groin crease, and the vertical scar runs along the inner thigh.
