DEEP PLANE FACE LIFT

ABOUT

Deep Plane Face Lift

The deep plane facelift is a surgical procedure designed to improve facial ageing by repositioning deeper facial layers rather than tightening the skin alone. It addresses sagging in the cheeks, jawline, and lower face.

PROCEDURES

How the Procedure Works

A deep plane facelift works by lifting the deeper facial layers, not just the skin, to restore underlying support.

During the procedure:

  • The deeper structures of the face (including the SMAS layer) are lifted as a single unit.
  • Key facial ligaments are released to allow safe repositioning of tissues.
  • The cheeks, jawline, and lower face are elevated to a more youthful position.
  • The skin is closed with minimal tension because the deeper tissues carry the lift.

The procedure is performed using appropriate anaesthesia. Duration typically ranges from 4–6 hours, depending on the degree of correction needed.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advantages of a deep plane facelift over a traditional facelift?

A deep plane facelift is a more extensive procedure that targets facial muscles deep to the SMAS layer for a more dramatic rejuvenation. The entire SMAS layer is lifted by releasing the deep ligaments then repositioning it to a higher position without putting too much tension on the skin. The deep plane facelift lifts the lower face and neck as well as the midface area, including the cheeks, to create a very youthful and natural result. Excessive tension on the skin results in widened scars, a deep plane facelift reduces tension on the skin, resulting in better skin healing.

Surgical incisions are hidden in the hairline and along lines around your ear and heal very well. Scars should only be visible if someone has a very close look.

The goal of your surgery is to give you back your youthful appearance. In the end you will look like a younger version of yourself.
